Overview:

This position will be responsible for the manufacturing of non-automotive product utilizing primary and secondary processing equipment or hand assembly. Following all procedures and work instructions, achieve optimal productivity, quality, and safety assuring internal and external customer satisfaction. 

Responsibilities:

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manufacture product by injection molding presses as assigned by the Molding Supervisor.
  • Visual inspection, trimming, and packing of injection molded plastic products.
  • Ability to recognize molding defects; such as shorts, splay, burns, flash, color swirls, and contamination among others.
  • Complete and maintain accurate production, scrap, and downtime paperwork.
  • The ability to be trained to run multiple presses and products, and to able to do so at standard cycle times.
  • The operation of secondary equipment within the molding department as required for various jobs.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions within an injection molding environment.
  • Abide all company and facility policies and safety standards at all times.
  • To help maintain a clean and safe working environment by following departmental and facility housekeeping standards.
  • To participate in, and help maintain, all 5S and organizational events and systems within the molding department and manufacturing facility.
  • Ability and willingness to help out in other departments as assigned by the Molding Supervisor or Operations Manager.

 

 

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • 1-3 years of related injection mold press experience; or equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
  • Plastic Injection Molding background in an operator driven environment required
  • Strong problem solving ability
  • Background in quality or assembly is highly desired
  • Positive attitude and willingness to adapt to change
  • Interest and desire in being challenged by working in a unique non-automotive operation.
  • Ability to function as part of a team and be able to communicate effectively and professionally both in writing and verbally.
  • Familiarity and experience working within 5S and Lean manufacturing systems.
